1Daylesford Court House
Built in 1862 on the crest of Wombat Hill, this courthouse anchors a gold-rush-era police reserve established in 1854. Its distinctive pavilion design features a two-storey crenellated gable flanked by single-storey verandahed wings, rendered brick with a slate roof. Listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
2Daylesford Post Office
Built in 1867 during Daylesford's gold-rush boom, this Italianate post office at 86 Vincent Street is crowned by a clock tower that has marked the town centre for over 150 years. Classified by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) and listed on the Victorian Heritage Database, it still serves the community today.
3Convent Gallery
Built in the 1860s gold-rush era as the Gold Commissioner's home and dubbed "Blarney Castle," this Wombat Hill landmark became the Holy Cross Convent and a girls' boarding school under the Presentation Sisters in 1892. A chapel followed in 1904. The school closed in 1973; artist Tina Banitska bought and converted it in 1988.
4Daylesford railway station
Opened on 17 March 1880, this substantial brick station served Daylesford until regular services ceased on 3 July 1978. The line reopened for tourist trips during the 1980s and now hosts the Daylesford Spa Country Railway, whose yard stores heritage rolling stock; railmotor services toward Musk were restored in 1990.
5Lake Daylesford
Completed in 1929 across Wombat Creek, this ornamental reservoir was designed by Walter Burley Griffin, the architect behind Canberra's plan. Governor Lord Somers opened it in April 1930. Its waters submerged former market gardens, mineral springs and a Chinese settlement, and it now serves as a recreational and tourist attraction.
