1Cowrie Island Reserve
A rocky basalt outcrop forming the north-eastern boundary of Shellharbour's harbour, Cowrie Island shelters a fish-processing area: a simple concrete platform with concrete tables tucked within the breakwater. Fishermen have used the site since at least the 1960s. It was gazetted on 12 December 1986 and is listed in the Shellharbour Heritage Inventory.
