1The Greatest Wonder of the World and American Tobacco Warehouse and Fancy Goods Emporium
Built between 1870 and 1878 at 123-125 Mayne Street during Gulgong's gold rush, these two shopfronts once sold clothing and tobacco under flamboyant names given by the Moses brothers. Rare "erected-in-a-hurry" vernacular buildings, they were state heritage listed in 2016 and now house the Gulgong Holtermann Museum.
2Henry Lawson Centre Gulgong
This volunteer-run museum honours poet and short-story writer Henry Lawson (1867-1922), who spent his childhood in the Gulgong-Eurunderee district. Housed in a former Salvation Army hall, it holds the largest collection of Lawson material outside the State Library of NSW, including manuscripts, a first edition, photographs and paintings.
3Hobsons Shops
Built around 1880, Hobsons Shops is a two-shop corner building at Herbert and Bayly Streets in Gulgong, NSW. It later housed the Golden West Trading Post old-wares business, which held the premises when a permanent conservation order was granted in 1985. The building joined the State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
4Gulgong railway station
Opened on 14 April 1909 when the line reached here from Mudgee, this timber station uses the NSW "type 7" skillion-roof design, with a pump house and dam completing the complex. Passenger services ended in December 1985; the building is now leased to Mid-Western Regional Council. Heritage-listed 1999.
5Gulgong Cemetery
Dating from the 1870s gold-rush era that built the town, Gulgong Cemetery on the Castlereagh Highway holds monumental headstones arranged in denominational sections with row identification. A columbarium wall for ashes was added in the 1970s, and a lawn cemetery section followed in 2008. Mid-Western Regional Council maintains it.
