1Mudgee railway station
Opened in September 1884, this Victorian boom-style station of red brick on sandstone footings was designed by NSW Railways engineer John Whitton on the Gwabegar line. Closed to passengers in 1985, its remarkably intact station and yard group earned a State Heritage Register listing in 1999.
2St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Mudgee
This sandstone Catholic church at 13 Church Street was designed by Bathurst architect Edward Gell in the Victorian Ecclesiastical Gothic style. Rebuilt between 1873 and 1876 to replace an 1857 original, its tower gained a flared copper spire in 1911. It joined the NSW State Heritage Register in 1999.
3St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Presbytery, Convent & Hall
Mudgee's Roman Catholic church began in 1857 under Father Callaghan McCarthy and was largely rebuilt in 1873-76 to Edward Gell's design, opening in November 1876; the spire followed in 1911. The complex, including the 1851 presbytery and later Convent of Mercy, joined the NSW State Heritage Register in 1999.
4Mudgee Town Hall
Built in 1880 under Mayor T. Clark, this two-storey neoclassical building on Market Street features stuccoed window pediments, an elaborate central roof gable, a mansard roof behind a low parapet, and a flagpole turret with cast-iron cresting. Severely damaged by fire in 1978 and later renovated, it now houses a library and theatre. It joined the NSW State Heritage Register in 1999.
5Mudgee Post Office
Dating from 1862, this Victorian Free Classical post office was designed by Colonial Architect Alexander Dawson, with 1902 additions by Government Architect Walter Liberty Vernon. A symmetrical single-storey stuccoed brick building with Palladian pavilions and columns, it was among the state's first major country post offices and is State Heritage listed.
